Position Details
This position requires that the employee must excel as a top hand and run all aspects of the tower top and/or have extremely strong technical abilities to be the right hand to the Tower Foreman and also have the ability to lead a two-man team as needed.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the build and maintenance of cell towers, small cells, and other wireless equipment and structures.
- Must provide support to the foreman on tower top or as RF technical lead.
- Skilled in PIM & sweep testing, site troubleshooting, integration, and turn up.
- Complete work in a timely and efficient manner by planning, prioritizing, and mobilizing staff, materials, and subcontractors in coordination with project foreman to meet progression schedule.
- Inspect and approve all sub-contractor's work.
- Identify construction "punch list" of items to be remedied and ensure they are completed prior to customer’s inspection.
- Ensure tasks assigned are completed in timely, quality manner.
- May maintain and enforce all BCI and OSHA safety practices, perform daily jobsite safety inspections on equipment prior to operation. Immediately stops work when unsafe work practices or conditions exist.
- Must be able to work overtime to include Saturdays, Sundays, and evening hours.
- Must be able to satisfactorily complete all aspects of BCI’s Tower training classes.
- Other projects and duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:
- High School or GED required.
- 2+ years tower construction background required, Or 1+ years tower tech. with TTT-I or II. Certification, both written and practical.
- Able to read blueprints, details, and specifications.
- Cad-weld or other thermo-weld training helpful.
- Has demonstrated knowledge of Test Equipment, Sweep, PIM & Fiber, and Certification in each.
- Has demonstrated knowledge of standard knots, Pass N.A.T.E. Tower Climbers Exam.
- Successfully complete BCI Tower and Safety Training.
- Not required but experience installing and integrating T-Mobile, AT & T, Verizon, Dish, and Sprint is a plus.
Language Skills:
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
- Bi-Lingual (Spanish) is a plus.
Reasoning Ability:
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
- Valid Drivers License required.
- Must be able to meet BCI MVR criteria with approved driver status.
- Valid (Medical Examiners Certificate DOT Card) required.
- OSHA 30 Certification can be obtained via successful completion of BCI training class.
- Not required but preferred: (BCI will train as required)
- NWSA – TTT I, II, or III
- Gin Pole Certified
- Competent Climber / Rigging
- RF Awareness
- Fall protection / Rescue.

- Ability to work on job site in remote location for extended periods of time.
